In 1895, Johann Bretz started his business as a mattress manufacturer and founded his first factory in Gensingen, Rhineland-Hesse. His son Alexander expanded the range to include upholstered furniture. After World War II, he had to rebuild a completely destroyed factory from scratch.
1973 - the heyday of the company with 1600 employees, which was managed by Karl-Fritz Bretz, son of Alexander.
In 1986, due to the economic crisis, the company ceased to exist.
In 1987 Karl-Fritz Bretz founds a company with 5 employees and opens a new era.
In 1992, the fourth generation began with Norbert and Hartmut Bretz. They relied on soft contours and strict forms and made the company what it is today: a luxury brand that constantly exaggerates -
