Fogia (Sweden)

Fogia was established in 1981 by Hans Rosander and Lars Fritzell, and originally named A.B.G — Trading. The founders’ developed a pioneering method for joining sheets of plexiglass to create striking tables and storage. In the years that followed, the company grew and began producing other pieces of furniture, changing names to Fogia Collection in 1986. Fogia’s reputation as makers of quality furniture developed fast, receiving plenty of contract and public space commissions while also steadily building a network of retailers around Sweden. Fogia is no longer owned by its founders, and was given a new lease of life in 2011 when a new owner stepped in. The Fogia collection was overhauled and the brand began a new direction, working collaboratively with a roster of designers from across the Nordics and Europe. Fogia remains loyal to its roots as one of Sweden’s upholstered furniture experts but also pushes boundaries within the conventional design framework. Today, Fogia sets the tone and pace of Swedish design with modern icons like Tiki and Bollo altering the shape and expression of Nordic design.
