Johanson Design (Sweden)

Johanson's history began in 1953 when Börje Johanson invented pillow sewing and then founded his company focusing on Scandinavian design and impeccable craftsmanship in furniture making. Johanson is expanding its collections in close collaboration with some of Europe's leading furniture designers. Their ideas, combined with artisan traditions from Småland, give the products a truly distinctive style and feel. Almost all production is carried out in modern manufacturing facilities in Markarid. As a result, Johanson has complete control over the manufacture, cutting, sewing, upholstery, assembly and locksmithing. Johanson also offers a huge selection of upholstery designs and 399 different RAL colors for the metal parts of its furniture. The company is ISO 14001 certified, the products bear the Nordic Ecolabel and the Möbelfakta criteria are met. Johanson also meets the highest EU standards for testing and durability in public spaces. The sound absorption quality has been tested in accordance with EU standards and all products have been tested for durability by the RISE research institute of Sweden AB. Today Johanson is an international company with 60 employees and annual sales of SEK 170 million. Timeless Scandinavian designs are in high demand all over the world, including the USA, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
